Chapter one discusses the recording sessions for the single "Strawberry Felds Forever" and "Penny Lane".

The second chapter deals with the album's recording sessions; each song is discussed, from the inspiration to the mixing; we let the Beatles and George Martin explain what they thought about it. We discuss the deviating versions and where the songs have been performed 'live' during the solo careers.

The third chapter gives a detailed account of the history behind the famous L.P. cover; its design, who all the people are who are featured on it, the Beatles comments, an interview with Simon Posthuma of the fool, parodies on the L.P. cover by other bands, the "Paul is dead" mystery and a lot more ...

Chapter four talks about a multitude of books, fanzines and specials about Sgt. Pepper and also lists the beatles' royalties agreement.

The fifth chapter houses a richness of information and references for collectors with the discographies from Great Britain, U.S.A., Japan and Holland, including all reissues and indications how they can be identified both for the L.P. and the single.there is a separate subchapter about the picture discs, album and single versions from all over the world, rare and unusual releases and bootlegs, from the early vinyl pressings to today's sophisticated cd issues.

Apart from numerous black & white photographs, this book also contains 64 colour pages packed with photos of records, picture sleeves, L.P. covers, bootlegs, magazines, sheet music, posters and the beatles' 1967 recording contract, property of beatles 4ever fan-club and never published before!
