Detail : Paul's twentieth "solo" album release, and third live album.
Personnel :
Paul - Lead vocal, acoustic guitar, drums (on "Ain't No Sunshine")
Linda - Vocal harmonies, harmonium, percussion.
Hamish Stuart - Lead vocals (on "And I Love Her" & "Ain't No Sunshine"), Acoustic bass guitar, six-string guitar.
Robbie McIntosh - Acoustic six & twelve string guitars, dobro, piano (on "Ain't No Sunshine")
Paul "Wix" Wickens - Piano accordion, shaker, Acoustic bass guitar (on "Ain't No Sunshine")
Blair Cunningham - Drums, percussion (on "Ain't No Sunshine")

Recorded 25th January 1991 at the Limehouse Studios, Wembley for one of the series of programmes on MTV entitled Unplugged.
The concept being that a big name artist will perform in the raw in front of a small intimate audience.
Paul and his band performed in front of 200 specially invited lucky people.

As well as the 17 tracks that appear below on both the vinyl and C.D. versions, another five songs are
included in the performance that are not broadcast and not featured on this release :
"Mean Woman Blues"
"Matchbox"
"Midnight Special"
The Fool"
"Things We Said Today".
And just to confuse things further, three tracks on this L.P. were not included in the broadcast either :
"San Franciso Bay Blues"
"Hi-Heel Sneakers"
"Ain't No Sunshine"

Transmission occured on MTV Europe on 13th May 1991, but at that time I did not have satellite (like most in the U.K.),
so I had to wait until Channel 4 broadcast it on 26th August 1991 to see and record the show.

Paul also takes "Unplugged" on tour, performing at six surprise venues.
8th May - Zeleste Club, Barcelona, Spain.
10th May - The Mean Fiddler, Harlesden, London.
5th June - Teatro Tendo, Naples, Italy.
7th June - Cornwall Coliseum, St. Austell.
19th July - Cliffs Pavilion, Westcliff-on-Sea (tickets are £16:50).
24th July - Falkoner Theatre, Copenhagen, Denmark.
(a planned seventh, in Paris on July 26th was cancelled.)

The L.P. release is a limited edition of 250,000 worldwide, and they are individually numbered in the bottom right-hand corner, mine seen above is no. 12,404.
It is NOT on the Parlophone label, but is on EMI Hispa Vox, which when looking closely at the label appears to be South African.
Also rather bizarrely, the sleeve notes on the L.P. are all in Spanish ! ... on the C.D. they revert to Paul's native language.

26th May 1991 - Unplugged entered the album chart at it's peak position of number 7.
