TMOQ Gazette - Volume 9 - Auntie's Fantasy (In Finger Licking Quality)
Part 1
- THE BEATLES IN CONCERT - First broadcast 5th May 1999 on BBC Radio 2 and hosted by your old mate, Brian Matthew himself !
The BBC came up with the idea to compile together various live recordings and create a "fantasy concert" to showcase the performing Beatles across the years.
The songs were chosen from radio shows, TV performances, actual live concerts and even one from the legendary outdoor rooftop concert of January 1969.
The sound quality is excellent throughout and the results are quite enjoyable with some of the original spoken introductions left intact to make it feel like a single show.

Part 2
* Kicking off this second disc is a completely new and previously unheard recording - a live rendition of All My Loving from the Johanneshov Isstadion, Stockholm on 28th July 1964.
* Followed by The Hollywood Bowl.
We now present yet another version that has recently been unearthed and made it's way down The Beatles helter skelter of destiny, once again sounding cleaner than all previous versions.
* To round off this collection, we present the soundtracks from a series of Pathé newsreels that contain some intriguing insights into the live Beatles - from the original master tapes.

JPGR Comments :
The fantasy live concert feel to the main disc doesn't really include anything essential, nothing new, but it does make a nice listen.
But, a purchase of this set is made essential by the extras on disc two !
As mentioned on the cover, the Hollywood Bowl 1964 concert is from a new tape source and really is very nice.
Plus with the new Swedish 1963 All My Loving, it's a done deal and as a pressed silver disc this is a must have.

Another nice presentation in the "TMOQ Gazette" style.
A solid card DVD-sized booklet with 24 pages of information, pictures and an interview from 9th May 1965 with Sandy Lesberg at the Dolphin Restaurant in London following a full day of shooting on the set of "Help !"

1 All My Loving This recording came to light during events marking the 50th anniversary of Love Me Do in
October 2012 when Swedish collector Staffan Olander presented a three-part series on Sveriges Radio.
During the first part this track was aired and caused quite a stir as it may mean there is a complete unheard concert in someone's archives.
So far, this is the only track that has been revealed.

Hollywood Bowl Concert - 23rd August 1964
2 Introduction A show that has been well known for years, recorded 23rd August 1964
It's first appearance came from a Capitol acetate that was copied and mis-identified as the Shea Stadium concert.
