The A-side was produced by George Harrison. The second of two Apple single releases from the Oxford Street vocal/instrumental group which again reached the chart, giving them a 100% hit ratio. "Govinda" is a recitation of verses 30 and 32 of an old Hindu text called "Sri Brahma Samhita". This particular piece is actually recited every morning in Krishna temples worldwide in the same musical theme as performed on this track.
The Radha Krishna Temple made 2 appearances on Top of the Pops to promote "Govinda". To see where this single release sits in the apple releases, see the Apple Records Single Listing. |
