The second song given away by the Beatles, and this single was essential in that BOTH sides were Beatles songs making their FIRST appearance. The B-side as recorded by the Beatles wasn't released until almost a year later when it surfaced on the Long Tall Sally E.P.

Both songs were recorded 26th June 1963 at Abbey Road, the A-side being completed in 22 takes, the B-side in 19 takes.
On the surviving studio tape John Lennon can be heard discussing harmonies with Billy.

This single reached number 1 in the hit parade, it was knocked off the top spot by ... She Love's You.

"Bad To Me" is one of 20 songs that can be found on the essential E.M.I. album, The Songs Lennon and McCartney Gave Away.
