|John's fourth solo single.
"Power To The People" was this time credited to John Lennon Plastic Ono Band, which on this occasion comprised, John,
Klaus Voorman, Jim Gordon and Yoko. Extra backing was supplied by Rosetta Hightower and "44 others".
Again Phil Spector assisted with the producing.
The release of this single was delayed one week when Mr. Philip Brodie the then M.D. of EMI, considered the lyrics to the
B-side as distasteful and demanded that they be cleaned-up.
The B-side, written solely by Yoko was produced by John and Yoko.
As to the label, oddly Yoko's side is on the label side of the dark outer skin of the apple where one would normally find
the A-side and Power To The People is on the side of the white inner slice of apple. Were all copies like this ?
This single was deleted 31st December 1986.
