George's sixth solo single.
This track was released as a preview for the "Extra Texture" album. Although most of the album sessions were recorded during
sessions of May and June 1975, "You" was originally recorded four years previously in February 1971 at the Ronnie Spector
sessions. Ronnie never laid a vocal down, so George used the instrumental take already prepared.
The B-side can also be found on "Extra Texture".
As shown below, the label is replaced with an "Extra Texture" label, with the partly eaten 'Apple Core' logo which
signifies the end of Apple.
Also in the run-out grooves of the A-side is the infamous legend, "A Porky Prime Cut", one of the trademarks of the cutting
engineer George Peckham. |
