Detail : The twenty-fifth British EMI single release.
The first single to feature tracks taken from "Sgt.Peppers" !
The single was released due to interest at the time generated by the forthcoming film, "Sgt.Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band" which starred The Bee Gees and Peter Frampton. Unfortunately EMI were a tad premature, as the film was not released until early 1979. So it's not at all surprising that this largely unpublicised record didn't do very well in the charts !

The B-side is not the different clean introduction mix of "A Day in the Life" that can be found on the Imagine:John Lennon film soundtrack (PCSP 722) and various bootlegs, but is simply a cut version of the album with the crossfade lead-in.

Below, you can see the U.S. picture sleeve, released 14th August 1978 which is the same both sides.
Oddly, although the sleeve says Capitol 4612 - Printed in the U.S.A. and is the U.S. version, the single inside is Italian with a catalogue number of 3C 006 06843.
